Torhs 2Hot4Ice 2019

The Lancaster Vipers finished second at the Torhs 2Hot4Ice Nationals in Florida. The Lancaster Vipers, an inline hockey team finished second in the Adult A division at last weekend's Torhs 2Hot4Ice national tournament in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

Winning all four of their round-robin games in the preliminary round, the Vipers outscored their opponents by a combined score of 24-7 Friday and Saturday to take the top seed heading into Sunday's playoff rounds, where they defeated a pair of teams from Florida — the Citrus Kings (9-1) and ASA (9-2) — before falling in the championship game to New York's Bardown Envious Trash Pandas, 3-1.

Lancaster's roster included Erik Balthaser, Devin Docherty, Matt Engle, Nate Horning, Ian Meiskey, Jesse Quinn and Michael Van Horn, who also play in the East Petersburg Inline Hockey league. Cody Helwig, Kyle Kugler and Hayden White also laced up for the Vipers.

More than 150 teams from across the country competed in the Torhs national tournament, which featured divisions for junior, adult, women's, masters and pro teams.
