After 43 seasons of trying, the Washington Capitals finally won the Stanley Cup. The Caps beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 Thursday night to win the finals 4-1, as reported by the Associated Press.

In fact, 14 of the 27 players listed on the Capitals' roster played for the Bears. Some were there for seasons, others for a few games to rehab injuries.

Capitals who spent time with the Bears are Cup winning goalie Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer and Pheonix Copley, the other two Caps goalies.

Other former Bears are forwards Jay Beagle, Travis Boyd, Andre Burakovsky, Chandler Stephenson, Jakub Vrana, Nathan Walker and Tom Wilson.

Caps defenseman who have played for Hershey are Madison Bowey, John Carlson, Christian Djoos and Dmitry Orlov.

In addition, Caps radio announcer John Walton used to be the Bears' play-by-play guy.
