Bald eagles are collateral damage to the wind turbine industry in a useless effort to combat climate change. Wind energy facilities are permitted to cumulatively kill up to 4,200 bald eagles annually with no prosecution, thanks to the leadership of Barack Obama and various green activist groups. If you are a member of the Sierra Club, the World Wildlife Federation, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or even Greenpeace, you should be outraged, but I see no evidence of that.
The wind industry and environmentalists consider the death of raptors as incidental takings and acceptable losses of expendable wildlife, essential for achieving the climate-protecting elimination of fossil fuels.
Good thing environmentalists have double standards, or they wouldn’t have any standards at all. The last time I noticed natural gas pipeline protesters, it was all about wildlife habitat, and upsetting the balance of nature.
And before you say turbines are not killing birds in great numbers, it’s important to remember that the wind industry has gone to great lengths to cover up the slaughter as reported by Save the Eagles International. I would encourage anyone to watch an eagle being massacred by rotor blades on YouTube.
