We hear nearly continually — and especially recently — about outrages committed by someone using an assault weapon. Rarely, if ever, do we hear about someone doing something worthwhile with an assault weapon.

It appears that assault weapons in the hands of the citizenry have no worthwhile purpose — not even to deter someone else using assault weapons with evil intent.

That alone should persuade our Congress to outlaw the sale and possession of assault weapons.
