I’ve felt for a while that our state would be going to the dogs under the administration of Gov. Tom Wolf. Now we have photographic proof that is the case: “Woofs for Wolf” (April 30).
Our governor is shown in a photo-op receiving an award from Libre the Boston terrier, who has a law named after him. The governor received the Humane Legislative Leader Award “for his support for animal issues in Pennsylvania.”
The rest of the story: Wolf, the former Planned Parenthood escort who benefited from $1.5 million in campaign spending from that organization in 2018, continues to pledge to veto any pro-life legislation that lands on his desk.
I received a mailing from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals a while back asking for money to “help end the cruelty and stop the killing.” It contained a quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “I hold that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.” Do you really think Gandhi was referring to dogs and cats?
It is an absolute disgrace that our governor has more concern for protecting the life and health of a dog than the life and health of a helpless human baby in the womb.
Let’s end the cruelty and stop the killing. Please pray for our state and our nation to return to a respect for human life.
