Nicholas "Nick" J. Nicholaou, 89, of Lancaster, died early Thursday morning, January 17, 2019 at Hamilton Arms, Lancaster, after an illness. He was the husband of Charmaine T. (Abel) Nicholaou. They were married on November 22, 1983.
Nick had worked in Hospitality in Lancaster County for many years. Earlier in life, he had owned and operated the former House of Lords, an English Pub & Restaurant in York and was an electrician at RCA, Lancaster.
Born December 26, 1929 in Lancaster, he was the son of Greek immigrants, the late James G. and Kiriacoula (Pappanicholaou) Nicholaou. Nick was a life-long active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Lancaster.
A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U. S. Air Force as Sergeant First Class and was a member of American Legion-Post #34, Lancaster.
Nick was an active member of the following Masonic Organizations: Lodge #43 F. & A.M., Lancaster, the Valley of Lancaster, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, Knights Templar, Royal Arch Chapter No. 43 and Tall Cedars of Lebanon-Lancaster Forest #27. He was also a member of St. Philip's Guys & Dolls and Centerville AARP.
Nick will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday morning between 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial Remembrances can be made in Nick's memory to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
