Kenneth W. DeLong, 70, of Quarryville passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 7, 2019. He was the husband of Eleanor A. (Astle) DeLong. They would have celebrated 45 years of marriage on July 13, 2019. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late M. Clair and Miriam E. (Barr) DeLong. He graduated from Solanco High School in the class of 1966.
Ken was a member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church in Quarryville. His hobbies included collecting antiques, camping, and tinkering in his woodshop. He worked on the family farm, along with his two brothers. "I love my job" and "I'm proud of our farm" were two things he said often.
In addition to his wife, Ken in survived by two sons: Jonathan C., husband of Jessica (Brenner) DeLong; and Jeremy P. DeLong, and two grandchildren: Gideon J. and Emmalee M. DeLong. He is also survived by the families of his two brothers, James R. and Gerald C. DeLong and his sister, Susan E. (DeLong) Stoltzfus. He will be sadly missed by his faithful dog, Napoleon.
A funeral service will take place at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, 611 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Cemetery. Viewings will be in the Show Barn (Building #5) at the Solanco Fairgrounds, 101 Park Ave., Quarryville, PA from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday and also on Monday at the church from 10-11 a.m.
