John H. Hoober, of Frankford, DE, died at Conestoga View, Thursday December 13, 2018 at the age of 96. John was a Lancaster County native who moved to Delaware after retiring as the County Administrator for the County of Lancaster.
John was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during WWII. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1948 with a degree in Economics.
John worked for Hamilton Watch Company as a regional sales manager. After leaving the watch industry, he bought the Town Tavern in Lancaster.
John was married to Shirley (Weigand) Hoober who predeceased him in 2013, after 67 years of marriage. He is survived by a daughter, Kristen Evans, wife of Jeffrey Evans as well as two granddaughters.
Additionally, John was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and involved in Big Brothers/ Big Sisters.
John loved being outdoors, especially if it involved the water.
No public service will be held, but you may make a donation to the Humane League of Lancaster County ( www.humanepa.org ) in honor of his life if you wish.
