Floral A. Dickerson

Floral A. Dickerson, 83, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Born in Garden City, NY in 1934, she was the daughter of the late Sherman T. and Almine H.F. Evans and the wife of the late Richard V. Dickerson and the late Frederick C. Sutter.

Floral graduated from Floral Park Memorial High School, Floral Park, NY, Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York with an associate's degree and State University of New York, Old Westbury, New York with a bachelor's degree.

She was an administrative assistant to the president of Camp of the Woods, Speculator, NY and the church secretary for New Paltz United Methodist Church, New Paltz, NY. She enjoyed hiking, her "furry" friends, card games, reading, fishing, Bible study and traveling which included travel to the Holy Lands, Europe, and throughout the United States. She volunteered at Historic Huguenot Street, New Paltz, NY; Mohonk Preserve, Gardiner, NY; and the Memorial United Methodist Church, Modena, NY.

She is survived by two sons: Richard Vautrin Dickerson, married to Karen Wigh, Lititz, PA; Sherman Dickerson, married to Mona, New Paltz, NY, and five grandchildren: Clayton J., Ryon, Olivia F., Angelica, and Evan.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Brookville Cemetery, Long Island, NY at a later date.
