Deaven Douglas "Mini Coop" Cooper, 15, beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle and friend left us peacefully at Hershey Medical Center on April 13, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Deaven loved being outdoors and was stricken while playing basketball with his friends.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the precious son of Eric Douglas Cooper, husband of Lisa L. Henry Cooper and his mother, Melissa Marie Shenk.
Deaven was an ambitious sophomore at Solanco High School and was recently accepted into Lancaster County's Career and Technology Center for the Construction Engineering Career program. In addition to playing basketball, baseball, and kickball, he also avidly played Xbox and collected The Walking Dead memorabilia. Deaven's love of the outdoors was most evident when he went fishing, hunting, rode on a motorcycle with his Dad and Uncle, or built forts. He loved to draw and had a witty sense of humor. He was a huge fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, loved Harley Davidson, and would appreciate anyone attending his service to honor him with wearing sporty or casual clothing in either green and black or orange and black on Saturday.
In addition to his father, mother, and step mother, he is survived by his brother, Kirk A. Cooper, Columbia, PA; his sister, Tessah M. Shenigo, Lancaster, PA, step brothers, Troy and Corey Barndt, Lancaster, PA, paternal grandfather, Henry W. Cooper, Jr., Mount Joy, PA, maternal grandmother, Dorothea M. Peelor, Lancaster, PA, aunts, Lori A., wife of Rob A. Files, Jr., Mount Joy, PA, Pat Fisher, wife of Melissa Wolf, Lancaster, PA; uncle, Bobby S., husband of Ann M. Shenk, Gordonville, PA, niece, Sophiya P. Cooper, Mount Joy, PA, cousin, Jackson R. Shenk, Gordonville, PA. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
We know Deaven is now with his paternal grandmother, Pat Cooper, and his maternal grandfather, Little John Peelor and is loved very much here on earth as well as in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the entire nursing staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Penn State Children's Hospital for the incredible care they provided to Deaven and his entire family.
