Carrie L. Bright Mathiot, 49, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care. She was the wife of William C. Mathiot with whom she was married 18 years. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Melvin "Bo" and Patricia Haldeman Bright of Mountville.
A 1985 graduate of Penn Manor High School and Millersville University, Class of 1990, she was employed for many years as a manager for Christmas Tree Hill. A member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church, Carrie participated in Women's Bible Study. She was also a member of the Susquehanna Fire Company.
Carrie enjoyed her family trips to the mountains and Ocean City, Maryland. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her time with Abby. She will be remembered for her bright smile and her willingness to help others.
In addition to her husband and parents is her beloved daughter, Abigail Mathiot at home; brothers, Michael Bright and his wife Denise; Marcus Bright and his wife Jennifer; sister, Kimberly wife of Eric Ware. Uncles, aunts and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held from the Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St. Columbia PA 17512 on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Keith Braucher and Rev. James Garner, officiating. Interment will follow in Ironville Cemetery. Friends may view at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St. Columbia PA on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or at the church one hour prior to the service.
