Students who entered the advertising portion of the Celebration 225 contest were paired with an LNP/LancasterOnline business that chose to be part of this program.

Entrants were tasked with designing an ad that conveys the advertiser’s mission and message to the public. Each advertiser picked its first-place winner. They are:

Nahom Abebe, a first-grader at Lancaster Mennonite School, New Danville Campus. His teacher is Kate Newcomer; his ad was for Angelo’s Soccer Corner.

Merin Kauffman, a fifth-grader at Hans Herr Elementary School in Lampeter-Strasburg School District. Her teacher is Eric Balak; Merin’s designed a winning ad for Bayada Nurses.

Harper Yingst, a sixth-grader at Landis Run Intermediate School in Manheim Township School District. Her teacher is Emily Wood. Her ad was for Brooklawn Paving.

Michael Rivera, a first-grader at Clermont Elementary School in the Solanco School District. His teacher is Sarah Kratz. His ad was designed for Candyology.

Eden Eshelman, a third-grade student at Bart-Colerain Elementary School in the Solanco School District. Her teacher is Greg Schmitt; her ad was for Certified Carpet.

Isabel Ciccocioppo, a fifth-grader at Wharton Elementary School in the School District of Lancaster. Her teacher is Sara-Joan Eschbach. She designed an ad for DogStar Books.

Zion Mekonnen, a sixth-grader at Taylor Middle School in the Columbia Borough School District. Her teacher is Aubree Lockard. Her ad for Ebersole’s Vacuum is a winner.

Reese Brooks, a Bart-Colerain kindergarten student. Her teacher is Ashley Sipe. She designed a winning ad for Friendly’s.

Sienna Tyson, a fifth-grader at Bear Creek School in the Elizabethtown Area School District. Her teacher is Beth Shenk. Her ad for George J. Grove & Son is a winner.

Hosea Vaughn, a second-grader at the New Danville Campus of LMS. His teacher is Tyler Jones. His ad was designed for Go ’N Bananas.

Delaney Brown, a fourth-grader at Hans Herr Elementary. Her teacher is Beth Hendrix. Her ad was designed for Heritage Floors.

Mckinlee Whitmire, a second-grader at W.G. Rice Elementary School in the South Middleton School District. Her teacher is Brittany Wendler. Her ad was designed for Hinkle Insurance Agency.

Caleigh Troop, a fourth-grader at Bear Creek School. Her teacher is Beth Shenk. Her ad was designed Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery.

Louise Bloom, an 11th-grade student at Lancaster Country Day School. Her teacher is Gina Donnelly. Her ad for Lancaster Pediatric Associates is an award-winner.

Peyton Caswell, a seventh-grader at Landisville Middle School in the Hempfield School District. His teacher is Scott Feifer. His ad for Lancaster Farming won top honors.

Marian Castillo-Garcia, a fifth-grader at the New Danville Campus of LMS. Her teacher is Angela Dietzel. Her ad for Landis Adult Day Services is a 2019 award winner.

Riona Popdan, a third-grader at Mill Road Elementary School in the Elizabethtown Area School District. Her teacher is Tina Tuell. Her ad for Leisure Bowling & Golf Center was a winner.

Devon Warner, a Hempfield High School junior. His teacher is Chris Hanusa. His ad was designed for May-Grant Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Lena Ross, a third-grader at Clermont Elementary. Her teacher is Amy Markley. Her ad for Neffsville Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Services is a 2019 winner.

Jaden Hoffman, a fifth-grader at Hans Herr Elementary. Her teacher is Kristin Maser. Her ad for Pasquale’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzera won top honors.

Molly Marinaro, a fifth-grader at Landis Run Intermediate School. Her teacher is Jaime Weisser. She designed her award-winning ad for Penn Cinema.

Jesse Wood, a third-grader at Clermont Elementary. His teacher is Mary Pat Koller. His ad was designed for Rhoads Energy.
