STRANGULATION, ASSAULT

COLUMBIA: Edward Michael Sawyer, Jr., 39, of Columbia, strangled and assaulted a person about 2:20 a.m. April 23 in the 500 Block of Chestnut Street, police said.

LITITZ: Jason C. Pogue, 46, of Manheim, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of suspected cocaine and paraphernalia, an open container violation, driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest and failing to obey a traffic signal after he was stopped about 1:10 a.m. May 11, police said. Pogue was stopped after turning into the dead-end section of Linden Street and turning off his headlights, police said. Along with suspected cocaine, police found several open containers of alcohol, police said. Pogue refused testing and was later released, police said.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

MANHEIM TWP.: Michael Clifford Goloy, 60, of Lancaster, was charged with criminal mischief after he smashed a person's electric guitar about 5:10 p.m. April 30 in the 100 block of Manheim Avenue, police said. Total loss: $500.

THEFT

MOUNT JOY, WEST DONEGAL TWPS: Jesse A. Forry, 39, of Marietta, was charged with four counts of theft and three counts of access device fraud after he admitted entering unlocked vehicles and taking items, including credit cards, in April and May, police said. Forry was seen on surveillance video making credit card purchases, police said. He was being held at Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.

WEST HEMPFIELD TWP.: Bernard Terrain, 39, of Mountville, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, an open container violation and an equipment violation after he was stopped about 10 p.m. May 9 near Laurel Run and Willow Lane, police said. Several empty beer cans were found in his vehicle and his blood alcohol content measured .26% percent, police said.

TRESPASS, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

MOUNTVILLE: Michael T. Cats, 23, of Millersville, was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, public drunkenness and harassment after he had been screaming outside a home on Locust Road about 3:30 a.m. April 28, police said. He also broke a garage door window to enter the garage, police said.

WEST LAMPETER TWP.: Angle M. Kitsch, 43, of Paradise, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stopped about 7 p.m. May 13 on Millport Road at Lightfoot Road, police said.

WEST LAMPETER TWP.: Juan Rivera Santos, 40, of Lancaster, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he crashed into a utility pole along the 1500 block of Millport Road about 12:30 p.m. April 24, police said. Santos was not injured, police said.
