The Village, a popular downtown nightclub on North Christian Street, celebrates its 60th birthday on April 17.

Over the years, the family-owned nightspot has opened its doors to numerous bands, some nationally recognized, others famous locally.

Celebrities like Don Johnson, Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis have stopped by to check out the scene, as have athletes like Charles Barkley and Manute Bol.

Here are some of the many acts that have performed on the club's stage over the last six decades:

 
 

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
