A man killed in a farm accident in Upper Leacock Township on Friday afternoon has been identified as John R. Groff, 80, by Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.

The accident was reported at 4:19 p.m. at a farm on Quarry Road, near Oregon Drive.

According to Diamantoni, Groff was working next to a skid loader that had a full bucket.

At some point, the skid loader tipped onto Groff, who was not driving the vehicle at the time, Diamantoni said.

A deputy county coroner pronounced the man dead at the scene, Diamantoni said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Diamantoni said, because the accident was not witnessed by anyone.

East Lampeter Township police were investigating.
