Harrisbug Pike crash

A woman and a girl were injured when the car at left sheared a utility pole Sunday around noon on Harrisburg Pike in East Hempfield Township.

A 27-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl were injured and a large array of utility lines were left dangling when a car sheared a pole around noon Sunday in East Hempfield Township.

The single-vehicle accident happened in the 2100 block of Harrisburg Pike between the entrances to Woodcrest Villa and the Lancaster General Health Campus, with the car shearing a utility pole on the north side of the road.

The woman and girl, who are from the Lancaster area, were transported to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment but their injuries didn't appear serious, according to East Hempfield Township police Officer Ethan Etter.

Etter said the crash remains under investigation.
