With Lancaster County's bucolic backdrop and proximity to Washington, D.C., it's little wonder that this region has been a frequent stop for traveling presidents through the years. Today we take a second look at 10 of those presidential visits -- including one by a soon-to-be president - through the coverage each received in the local newspapers.

This story is part of LNP's 225th anniversary in 2019. Today's newspaper can be traced back to its start as the Lancaster Journal in 1794. In that year, George Washington was president and the United States of America was still in its early years.
