Three people were injured in a one-vehicle crash in Caernarvon Township Wednesday night.

Crews were called to the 2200 block of Laurel Road — just south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and about six miles west of Morgantown — at 9:20 p.m. for a report of a vehicle overturned with multiple people trapped.

Fire and medical personnel arrived to find two people trapped and another partially ejected, according to Dwyane Martin, Caernarvon fire chief.

Both doors on the passenger side of the SUV were removed so firefighters could free the occupants, he said.

A medical helicopter was placed on standby but medics opted to transport the two men and woman by ambulance to Reading Hospital, Martin said.

He said their injuries were serious but all are expected to survive.

Martin said there is a curve in the road near the site of the crash but said he didn't know what caused the SUV to overturn.

State police are investigating but no information was available from them Thursday.
