Police have identified the 16-year-old who died after being stabbed Wednesday night in Lancaster.
Benjamin Omar Ramos, of the 800 block of Rolridge Avenue, was taken to a hospital after he was found with a torso stab wound around 9:14 p.m. in the 900 block of Fremont Street. He died early Thursday.
Ramos was a sophomore at McCaskey High School, according to the School District of Lancaster.
He was stabbed during a fight between two groups of people, police said. When officers arrived, Ramos was surrounded by a crowd of people.
Detectives are continuing to follow investigative leads, police said.
The School District of Lancaster is offering grief counseling at J.P. McCaskey, McCaskey East and Wheatland Middle School until 3 p.m. today and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
