A 16-year-old male died on Thursday after being stabbed in the torso on Wednesday night in Lancaster city, police said.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a fight in the 900 block of Fremont Street at 9:14 p.m., where they found the male suffering from a stab wound to the torso.
The victim was surrounded by a crowd of people when officers first arrived and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He died from his injuries on Thursday, police said.
The male was stabbed during a fight between two groups of people, police said.
There are no Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras on the block, according to a map of the cameras.
Police are notifying family before releasing the victim's name, according to Lt. Bill Hickey.
Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

This is the third homicide in Lancaster city this year and the fifth in Lancaster County.
Tony Torrellas, 31, was shot April 27 at 539 S. Queen St., Lancaster. Tyreek Shyheim Gardner, 22, was found with multiple gunshot wounds May 30 in the 500 block of East Chestnut Street. Investigations are ongoing in both, according to police.
In Manheim Township, a woman from Northumberland County, Nicole Welton, fatally shot her 11-year-old son before turning the gun on herself Jan. 9. It happened at America's Best Value Inn Lancaster, 1320 Harrisburg Pike.
Ian Shannon, 31, was stabbed to death March 6 at his home on Dickens Drive in Lancaster Township. His boyfriend Matthew VanZandt is charged with the homicide.
