A man struck by a vehicle in East Lampeter Township Tuesday evening is expected to survive, an official said.
The man was crossing the road in the first block of Strasburg Pike, south of Lincoln Highway East and next to Turkey Hill, when he was struck by a northbound vehicle around 5:40 p.m., according to East Lampeter Township police Officer Bryan Kondras.
Kondras said the victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital but didn't know his condition Tuesday night. He said the man was conscious and alert at the scene and is expected to survive.
Kondras didn't identify the victim but said he is in his late 40s and lives in the first block of Strasburg Pike. He said the man was not within a crosswalk when he was struck.
The driver, a man in his 20s, remained at the scene and is not expected to be charged in the crash, Kondras said.
