Storm topples trees, blows over tractor-trailer, drops hail and causes power outages [update]

In Lancaster County, the storm knocked down a "significant amount of trees" on Park Hill Drive in Penn Township on Tuesday evening and toppled a tractor-trailer, according to Lancaster County-Wide Communications.

More than 3,000 PPL customers were without power around 8 p.m., mostly in the Neffsville, Manheim Borough and Morgantown areas. By 9:40 p.m., only a few hundred were still without power in much of Lancaster County, although the Morgantown area still had more than 1,000 without power.

The storm, which arrived shortly before 6 p.m. brought marble-sized hail to areas. A tree fell on a house on Park Hill Drive, and two trees fell onto a trailer in Rapho Township, according to Lancaster County-Wide Communications. A tractor-trailer was also blown onto its side on Old Philadelphia Pike near the border of East Lampeter and Leacock townships, but the driver was uninjured.

Emergency crews responded to reports of storm damage and downed wires in the storm's path, including in East Lampeter, Manheim, Penn and West Earl townships and Manheim Borough.
