Three men were charged after Lancaster city police conducted a detail to target sexual offenses at Long's Park on Tuesday.

The men were seen engaging in sexual activity, not all at once or at the same time, in public and open spaces within the park, police said.

They were charged with open lewdness:

  • Coby Renninger, 54, of the 800 block of New Street, Akron
  • Donald Boshnaugle, 84, of the 800 block of Blossom Trail, Mount Joy
  • William Erb III, 68, of the 200 block of Goat Hill Road, Peach Bottom

The men were transported to the city police station and released on a court summons, police said.

Lancaster city police's Mounted Patrol Unit and Selective Enforcement Unit ran the detail in response to complaints of people engaging in sexual activity in the park.

The illegal activity had been seen by park patrons including family and children, police said.

The mounted unit and selective enforcement units are "committed to making the park a safe and enjoyable place for all visitors," police said.

"Both units will aggressively and proactively enforce criminal laws and Lancaster City Ordinances within the park throughout the year," police said.
