A car is pulled from the Susquehanna River on Front Street at Wiconisco Street, Harrisburg, on Tuesday, April 4.

The body of a man was found in a car that went into the Susquehanna River this morning, police said.

Officials said they found a body of a man in his mid-to-late 20s in the car, CBS21 reported. 

The car went into the river around 5:45 a.m. at Front and Division streets and floated to Front and Wisconisco streets, CBS21 reported.

After hours of rescue efforts, the car was pulled from the river around 12:30 p.m., according to ABC27

Police have not released information on the circumstances leading up to the incident, according to CBS21.

A strong current presented a challenge for the rescue teams, news reports indicated.
