A Lancaster woman stole more than $75,000 over two years from a local home improvement company by drafting more than 40 company checks to herself and making purchases for herself with the company credit card, police allege.
Crystal L. Roten, 50, of 937 Helen Ave., was charged Nov. 5 with one count each of forgery, theft by deception and access device fraud, according to a statement Monday from West Hempfield Township police.
She stole the money, police said, from Shakespeare Home Improvement Co., 350 E. Main St., Mountville.
The company reported the thefts on Oct. 16, police said.
According to the report, Roten wrote the fraudulent checks between June 2017 and August 2018. She allegedly forged someone else's name on the checks, police said.
She used the company credit card to make unauthorized personal purchases between January 2017 and September 2018, police said.
Charges were filed before District Judge Miles Bixler. A preliminary hearing has not yet been filed, according to court records.
