A “State of the City” address is an opportunity both to reflect on the past and to set goals for the future, Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace said Monday.

“It’s a way to be accountable to the residents and the voters about what I’m doing,” she said.

Sorace said she expects to give “State of the City” updates annually. The first is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

In it, she will outline her administration’s strategic plan, which is centered around the four strategic priorities on which she campaigned: Strong neighborhoods, safe streets, secure incomes and sound government.

The event will be livestreamed on the city’s Facebook page.

As part of the strategic plan rollout, the city will launch a new website, LancasterBlockbyBlock.com. It will show the goals for each priority and the “success indicators” the city is tracking to assess progress, Sorace said.
