Ben Gutierrez

Dr. Ben Gutierrez was set to become Lancaster Bible College's sixth president before the college announced this week that he would no longer succeed Peter Teague.

The Board of Trustees for Lancaster Bible College recently announced that they have found the school's next president.

Ben Gutierrez will be the college's sixth president in 85 years, starting in August 2019 after the retirement of current president Peter Teague, the third-longest tenured president in Pennsylvania.

Gutierrez's background includes a PhD from Regent University, a Master of Arts in Religion and Master in Divinity. At Liberty University, he was a co-Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

He was also a professor of religion.

"We asked many times as a college community that God would make crystal clear His choice for our next president, believing in faith, and God has once again demonstrated His faithfulness in answering that prayer," Teague said about Gutierrez in a press release.

Though Gutierrez is new to the area, he has already expressed his liking towards Lancaster County. "We love the positive family environment," said Gutierrez in a press release. "My family and I cannot wait to put down roots in this wonderful community."
