After leading a highly-successful swimming career at Hempfield High School, Nick Glass landed at Temple University with intentions of focusing on his academics while still scratching the swimming itch with the Owls’ club swim team. A freshman orientation video changed all of that when Glass learned of the rowing team at Temple University, and decided to pursue a sport to which he had no familiarity. Glass recently completed his freshman season on the Owls’ men’s crew, having competed on Temple’s freshman/novice eight-man boat.

He chats about that entire journey on episode No. 92 of the "Inspirational Athletes" podcast, from his swimming career to his experiences on the water as a Temple rower, including the intricacies of the sport, such as being a rower at the front of the boat versus the back of the boat, the difference in rowing on choppy water versus smooth water, the training involved for a rower and much more.
