A worker spent much of his Saturday morning hosing down the pavement on Penn Square after the fountain there erupted in foam.
The fountain, which stands outside law offices and a bank at 28 Penn Square, at the intersection of King and Queen streets, was apparently the target of an anonymous detergent-wielding hooligan sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.
The result? A sidewalk covered in suds.
The popular fountain was shut down during cleanup.
