Last week on the "Inspirational Athletes" podcast it was Penn Manor alum Jody Fetterhoff dropping by to chat about how she’s built the Duquesne University women’s bowling program from scratch.
This week, one of Fetterhoff’s bowlers drops by on episode No. 97 of the podcast in Elizabethtown High School alum Olivia Farwell.
After an incredible high school career that included district and state championships, Farwell last season put together an incredible freshman campaign that led to her being named an All-Northeast Conference selection and Honorable Mention All-American by the National Tenpin Coaches Association en route to helping the second-year Duquesne program to a No. 18 ranking in the NTCA Top 25.
Farwell stopped into the LNP studio in mid-August, just before she returned to Duquesne for her upcoming sophomore season.
Among many topics, Farwell chats about how she developed a love for bowling inside Mount Joy’s Clearview Lanes bowling alley that is owned by her parents, becoming mentally tough when things don’t go her way on the bowling lanes, overcoming a shoulder injury in her freshman season at Duquesne, and the work she puts in inside the weight room that’s needed to maintain strength and endurance during the long bowling season.
