The Lititz Moravian Congregation Easter Sunrise Service processional led by the Moravian Trombone Choir heads up the hill behind the church to the Cemetery where the service was held April 1, 2018.

The sound of brass resounded in Lititz for a Moravian church's early, Easter morning tradition.

Together members of Lititz Moravian Congregation Church preceded up the hill behind the 8 Church Square building. The Moravian Trombone Choir, a group of brass instrumentalists, led the way to the cemetery.

There, Rev. Mark V. Breland and Rev. Dean R. Jurgen shared an Easter morning message standing in front of a wooden cross.

Members of the church have gathered for the sunrise service every Easter since the 1700s.

The sunrise and brass tradition is a hallmark of Easter morning for not only the church but also the Lititz community.
