Hit and run SUV vs. Jeep at Queen and Vine

A stolen sport utility vehicle crashed into a Jeep at South Queen and Vine streets in Lancaster shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, city police said. A woman was injured and the SUV driver ran from the scene.

A hit-and-run driver crashed a stolen sport utility vehicle into a Jeep in Lancaster Tuesday night, city police said.

The Chevy Trailblazer was going west on Vine Street, ran a red light and struck a northbound Jeep at South Queen Street shortly before 11:30 p.m., Sgt. Bill Hickey said. The female driver of the Jeep was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV ran from the wreck in an unknown direction, Hickey said. The owner of the SUV later reported it had been stolen on Farnum Street.

Police are investigating.
