A driver killed in a single-vehicle accident in Salisbury Township late Friday night has been identified as 22-year-old John Long Jr. of Quarryville, according to Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.
Long died in a crash just before midnight in the area of 5299 Mine Road. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle, according to a supervisor at Lancaster County-Wide Communications.
Long lost control while was traveling around a curve at a high rate of speed, according to state police.
His car hit a stone wall on the passenger side and then head-on before overturning and coming to a rest on its roof in a field along the road, police said.
Long died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
According to Long's obituary, he graduated from Solanco High School in 2012 and went on to complete a diesel mechanic program at Universal Technical Institute.
