There’s now a treat that you don’t have to hide from your dog.

Yogi-dog, manufactured near Mechanicsburg using Lancaster County milk, is an all-natural yogurt made specifically for dogs and can be eaten every day, said co-founder Dee Marie.

“We’re not a supplement, just a healthy treat,” she said.

Because sugar and some other ingredients found in regular yogurts are bad for dogs, Yogi-dog is lactose free and sugar free. It has eight live, active cultures and probiotics.

Dogs love it for the taste, she said, and dog owners love it for the ingredients. It comes in three flavors: original, cheddar cheese and peanut butter cream.

After some sampling and flavor testing, Yogi-dog hit the market.

Nearly two years later, the business has expanded into eight states along the North East and to over 400 grocery stores.

Locally, the yogurt can be found at Stauffers of Kissel Hill locations.
