On Monday, crews started the process of moving a building on the Long Home property along West Walnut Street in Lancaster city.
The home closed in 2012, but by next summer Presbyterian Senior Living expects to open a 52-apartment complex called LongCrest on the site.
The carriage house, which has been there for more than a century, is being moved elsewhere on the site, to be remodeled for use as a community room at a cost of about $470,000, according to Presbyterian.
After extensive collaboration during preconstruction, the historic carriage house at Long Home was successfully moved to its new location where it will be renovated & incorporated in the LongCrest project. We are thrilled to have met this challenging aspect for our client. pic.twitter.com/eeZzbsdq0g— Wohlsen Construction (@WohlsenWorks) June 28, 2019
