Motorists should use caution in areas surrounding two crashes Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster County.
Two vehicles collided at around 4:20 p.m. on Route 441, just south of Marietta at Furnace Road, according to Lancaster County-Wide Communications.
One vehicle went down an embankment and into a tree, according to a witness at the scene. At least one person was taken by ambulance for treatment.
The crash may have been caused when a driver swerved to avoid a deer, according to a report from the scene.
About 10 minutes later, an accident involving a tractor-trailer occurred near the intersection of Route 897 and Cains Road in Salisbury Township.
Rescue crews were responding to both incidents. Motorists should avoid the areas because of blocking.
