Let's hear it for Liberty and Freedom. Readers' votes are in and it seems appropriate that the unofficial names for the bald eagles nesting in Codorus State Park in York County have a patriotic theme.

Coming in second were George and Martha; third was Susque and Hanna.

There were many LNP readers who suggested Liberty and Freedom, so these are shared  bragging rights for this unofficial naming. You see, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, whose camera is livestreaming these eagles and their nest, does not "personify wildlife," according to Joe Kosack of the game commission.

Well, it seems as if a lot of you disagreed and thought they should have names. More than 950 votes were cast on LancasterOnline.
