Local nonprofit organization Sweet Pea Project will hosting a gathering Saturday, March 8, at Mulberry Art Studios to celebrate the release of a new book, "to linger on hot coals: collected poetic works from grieving women writers," by Stephanie Paige Cole and Catherine Bayly.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. at 19-21 N. Mulberry St. Light food and wine will be served and visitors will be able to leaf through copies of the book and view the candles lining the gallery's windowsills and ledges, each one with the name of a deeply loved and missed child handwritten on it.

Books will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Sweet Pea Project.

Sweet Pea Project's mission is to provide comfort, support and gentle guidance to families who have experienced the death of a baby during pregnancy or infancy.

Registration is not required but appreciated. Register at sweetpeaproject.org/poetry.
