Check the sofa cushions for loose change this week. You might find all you need to buy some great used books, as the following library boosters are selling them “for cheap.”

•Friends of the Adamstown Area Library will have a sale April 23-26 at Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver.

Admission from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday night is $5. Admission is free 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Proceeds will go toward library books and special programs.

•Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library will host a sale April 24-26 at Community Bible Church, 331 Anderson Ferry Road, Marietta.

Preview and Purchase Night is 6-8 p.m. Thursday and admission is $10.

Free admission starts Friday, when the sale runs 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and continues 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, when books are $5 a bag.

Those planning to buy in bulk are asked to bring their own boxes and bags.

Food will be sold both Friday and Saturday.

•Friends of the ELANCO Library will hold a sale at the Eastern Lancaster County library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, on April 24-26.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

•Friends of the Lancaster Public Library East-Leola Branch will host a sale April 25 and 26 at Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Quarry Road, Leola.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

On offer are more than 5,000 books, over half of which are hardbacks and partially sorted. Most paperbacks are 50 cents; hardbacks, $2; and children’s books, 50 cents to $1. Specially priced and autographed items also are available, and credit cards are accepted.
