Alton Brown seems to be making a yearly pilgrimage to Lancaster.
The chef, author and host of Food Network's "Good Eats" dined at Luca, the Italian restaurant on James Street in Lancaster city, on Monday night and made a bold statement about a menu item on his Instagram account: "The best salad in the world is in Lancaster, PA."
It appears he's referring to Luca's little gem lettuces salad, topped with parmigiano and a creamy garlic-lemon-anchovy dressing.
This is not Brown's first meal at Luca, owned by Taylor and Leeann Mason. He dined there in December of last year following his rave review of their other restaurant, Ma(i)son, as one of his top two restaurants, anywhere, for 2016.
But Brown's not just here to eat. He's in town for his "Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science" tour slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hershey Theatre.
