For those who text and use cute spelling when trying to flirt via text — it doesn't work.
According to a new "Digital Flirting Rules" survey by Omlet — a chat app developed by Stanford students that makes digital flirting, messaging and communication more fun — most men and women consider funky or very informal spelling to be their No. 1 turnoff when receiving chat or text messages.
Omlet surveyed a sample representative of 1,000 adults and young people.
Turns out that emoticons and emoji are considered OK by both sexes — 31 percent of men and 38 percent of women prefer to receive chat and text messages with multiple emoticons and emoji.
And nighttime texting etiquette is more important to women than men: Only 1 percent of women like late night texts, compared to 21 percent of men.
So cut the cute talk and just deliver your message.
