There are 27 drive-in movie theaters left in Pennsylvania, and the one closest to Lancaster has committed to its future by installing a brand-new screen.

"We are looking forward to many years of showing fabulous movies under the stars," Vicki Hardy, of Haar's Drive-In, told the Central Penn Business Journal.

Haar's is about 45 miles northwest of Lancaster city in Dillsburg, York County. It recently discovered that its wooden screen, built by Hardy's grandfather in 1952, needed to be replaced.

The old screen came down in mid-July and a new, aluminum-based screen was installed in time for last weekend's shows.

Haar's shows first-run double features on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Showing this weekend is "Ice Age: Collision Course," which starts around 8:55 p.m., and "Jason Bourne," which starts around 10:25. The box office opens at 6:30.
