Thomas the Tank Engine

The thousands of tiny (and not so tiny) Thomas fans who flock to Strasburg for every “Day Out with Thomas” hosted at the Strasburg Rail Road will have even more to be excited about during the event opening Saturday.

For the first time ever Thomas talks.

That’s right. We have it on good authority that the cheeky little engine from the Island of Sodor, while not able to carry on a conversation with his little fans, will be uttering a few happy phrases.

And unlike the trains in the Thomas the Tank Engine video series, whose lips never move when they speak, the Thomas at Strasburg actually moves his mouth. (We can hear the squeals of delight even now!)

Day Out With Thomas is actually nine days out with Thomas, beginning Saturday and continuing through June 22.

During the event, visitors can see Sir Topham Hatt, watch Thomas video screenings, hear stories, make crafts and participate in a variety of other Thomas-themed happenings.

Reservations are strongly recommended since Thomas events often sell out. Tickets are $21.
