Tabor Community Services has hired Michael F. McKenna as president, effective Oct. 8, the nonprofit said Wednesday. He succeeds Bob Thomas, whowill retire that day after 12 years at Tabor’s helm.
McKenna, of Lititz, most recently was chief impact/operations officer at Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County. He came to Lancaster in 2013 to be director of CAP’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program.
Prior to moving to Lancaster, McKenna was assistant director of poverty concerns and faith connections at the Center for Community Service and Justice of Loyola University Maryland.
McKenna has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree from Georgetown University.
Tabor, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is provides housing and financial counseling and education services for Lancaster County residents.
With 50 staff and an operating budget of $4.3 million, the organization will serve 5,000 clients this year through its 18 programs and services.
