Mick’s All American Pub has opened in Willow Street, taking a spot in a new mixed-use development near the Willow Valley Golf Course.

The restaurant is the third Mick’s All American Pub location for Mick Owens and his wife, Stephanie, who also have restaurants outside Mount Joy and at Penn Cinema in Manheim Township. In October, they opened Maize Mexican Cantina in Manheim Township.

The new restaurant in Willow Street has the same menu as the other Mick’s, featuring wings and appetizers such as pub fries, chicken fingers and potato skins as well as soups, salads and burgers. There are also sandwiches, pizzas and entrees, including fish-n-chips, fajitas and meatloaf.

The Willow Street Mick’s, which has 12 beers on tap, has inside seating for 185, including 25 around the bar and at seven extra-large booths that have room for up to 10 people.

The restaurant, which opened with 75 employees, features large windows that offer views of the park-like surroundings. The restaurant’s 60-seat patio overlooks a pond and walking trails.

The new Mick’s is part of Willow Valley Crossroads, a mixed-use development by Willow Valley Associates, which also owns the nearby Willow Valley Square and DoubleTree Resort.

Owens estimates he invested $700,000 in the new restaurant, which includes $500,000 in improvements to the building. He said a lot of the equipment came from the former Mick’s on Columbia Avenue.

The first Mick’s All America Pub opened in Mount Joy in 2008 in what had been a Carlos & Charlies.

A second Mick’s All American Pub opened in April 2012 along Columbia Avenue, west of Lancaster. That restaurant, which will be the new home of Meals on Wheels, closed last year in anticipation of the opening in Willow Street. The liquor license from that restaurant has been transferred to the new Mick’s.

Owens said he and his wife wanted a new location for their restaurants since the noticed that business at their Columbia Avenue location suffered when they opened east of Mount Joy in the fall of 2015.Plus, Owens said since they live in the Willow Street area they thought it could use a neighborhood bar and restaurant.
