The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry affiliate formerly known as the Lancaster County Business Group on Health has dropped the "Lancaster County" from its name.

The Business Group on Health today announced that it is partnering with a Pittsburgh-based company called Innovu to create a regional employee benefits benchmark.

"For employers to make better informed decisions in the health care arena, they must have better data," said Tim Shrom, chairman of nonprofit and business manager of Solanco School District.

Diane Hess, the group's executive director, said members have been increasingly frustrated at their vendors' lack of transparency on employee population data.

She said that once individual member data is secured with Innovu, a de-identified copy will be aggregated with other companies' data to create a robust set of regional benchmarks and dashboards.

Innovu Founder and CEO Patrick Stewart said the project "will provide sweeping and comprehensive insight into the region's employee benefits trends."

The Business Group on Health is an independent affiliate of The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
