Harvest Moon Bagel Co. has opened a bagel shop in downtown Lancaster.
The shop at 47 N. Queen St. features bagels and toppings made on-site as well as coffee and specialty drinks.
Owned by Zach and Chelsea Zawisa, Harvest Moon Bagel Co. operated for two years as a wholesale bagel maker that occasionally sold at outdoor markets.
The new shop has nine to 12 varieties of bagels, including seasonal varieties. It will also be the headquarters for the wholesale operation, which serves local restaurants.
While the shop opened last week with just bagels and spreads, it will soon add bagel sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. The shop has seating for 19, including some stools at a window counter. It operates with five employees.
The new shop takes a 1,300-square-foot spot previously occupied by Super Bread Colombian Bakery.
The bagel shop will eventually be open seven days a week, although for the first couple weeks it will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
