Construction of The Crossings at Conestoga Creek was scheduled to begin today with the start of earthmoving, 11 years after plans for the Harrisburg Pike project were unveiled.

Its developer, High Real Estate Group, said the mixed-use project opposite Long’s Park is set to open in August or September 2018.

As was previously announced, a Wegmans supermarket will be its anchor store. Wegmans is the only occupant to be disclosed to date. More retailers will be announced this summer, according to High.

Costing more than $100 million, The Crossings will have 210,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space (including Wegmans), 258 apartments and a 127-room hotel.

High announced the first plan for The Crossings in 2006 — a “lifestyle” shopping center of 650,000 square feet, which would have been county’s second-largest shopping center. The plan was switched to mixed use in 2011.
