The Manheim Lions Holiday Wrestling Tournament is still one of the best tournaments in the state. It's a tournament that consistently features eventual state champions in high school and national champions in college.

It's also a tournament in which its host hasn't had much success lately.

Not a single athlete wrestling for Garden Spot today was alive the last time the Spartans won a Lancaster-Lebanon League section championship.

Their current coach, however, was. In fact, he was a starter for coach Gene Hale's 1989 Section Two title winners.
