What is RSS?

RSS is a Web content syndication format.

Its name is an acronym for R eally S imple S yndication.

RSS is a dialect of XML. All RSS files must conform to the XML 1.0 specification , as published on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) website.


Why would I use RSS?

An RSS News Reader helps you aggregate the content of your favorite sites all into one location. When you add any of our RSS feeds to a RSS Reader you will get delivered to you the headline, summary and link to the complete article on Lancaster Online.


What do I need to take advantage of RSS?

You can also find a complete list of RSS News Readers here. Once you have an RSS reader installed, follow the programs instructions to add any of the above feeds.

Where can I find links to your feeds?

Our section pages contain the standard feed icon which links to the feed. For instance, if you are interested in a feed of our local news, click on the local link under the News tab in our navigation. Click on the smaller version of this icon:
